Operator Noma Vales and our team had an exciting morning touring the new under construction centre for the first time today. As we walked through each room, we discussed classroom setups, checked the functionality of windows, and engaged with the professional workers, who will undoubtedly leave behind their positive energy and dedication.
The St. Patrick Early Learning Centre has great big windows to let the seasons into our classrooms. Bringing the "outside in" is one way that we engage children in creative play and learning of our natural world.
New exterior walls will keep little toes and noses warm.
The steel beams are secured and the footprint is starting to take shape.
The concrete has been poured: Welcome to our Early Learning St. Patrick progress log!
Nestled in behind St. Patrick Catholic School will be our new 64 student Early Learning centre. Check back for more updates!
[Guelph, Ontario, December 18, 2023] - Eramosa Learning Academy (ELA), formerly GS CARE, proudly announces its new contract with the Wellington Catholic District School Board to operate licensed child care in the under-construction centre at St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School (391 Victoria Road N. at Woodlawn). Building on a strong, eight-year relationship with the school community through operating the before and after school program at St. Patrick, ELA is set to expand its offerings at the location by introducing a 64-space early learning program for infants to preschoolers. The projected opening date for the centre is July 2024.
This announcement marks a significant milestone for ELA, which recently debuted licensed, week-long, S.T.E.A.M. school-age camps in Guelph and Rockwood—a distinctive and unique designation empowering ELA to offer subsidized and CWELCC spaces for camps. Additionally, ELA currently operates an early learning centre in Rockwood and six before and after school programs in Guelph. All current ELA programs are part of the CWELCC (Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care) program.
“We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract, which builds on our existing relationship with the Wellington Catholic District School Board. The Brant neighbourhood needed additional child care spaces in the community and we look forward to serving more families in Guelph at this new facility" remarked Owner and Pedagogical Leader, Noma Vales. “Having operated as GS CARE, Guelph School-Age Care, for two decades and establishing a reputable presence in Guelph, our rebranding to Eramosa Learning Academy signifies our growing, evolving and inclusive focus on educational programs in Wellington County."
Registration for the new centre is not currently open. The registration opening date will be posted on the ELA website.
